Baptism

“The act of baptizing is essential to the church’s life. Proclaiming the Good News in such a way that people are moved to profess faith and be baptized is a charge given to the Christian community from the Risen Christ himself.”

2013-EV (34 of 76)

In response to the Risen Christ’s charge, St. Joseph Catholic Community has a Baptism Team who meet with new parents to discuss the sacrament of Baptism, the holiness and challenges of family life, and the responsibilities of raising children in our faith.

Baptism Classes

First and second-time parents will meet for a preparation class at SJCC. A date for their baby’s Baptism may be scheduled upon completion of the class.

Parents who have attended two baptism preparation classes for two of their children do not need to attend any additional classes.

Prospective parents are encouraged to participate in the Baptism Preparation Classes during the pregnancy.

Baptism classes are typically held the first Sunday of each month from 1:30 – 4:00 pm in the Tonry conference room. To register, please click here.
