Respect Life Ministry
Convinced of the value and dignity of human life from conception to natural death, respect life ministers help to educate the parish about a Consistent Ethic of Life, assist parents of unborn children with support so that they will choose life, and seek to improve the quality of life for persons who are elderly, handicapped, or imprisoned.
Those ministers who serve in the Gabriel Project assist and support parents who are faced with an untimely pregnancy, so that they may choose life.
Lenten Sacrificial Offering And “Spiritual” Adoption Program
Baby Bottle Drive
Our Lenten sacrificial offering/almsgiving program will be our annual “Baby Bottle Drive”
sponsored by the Knights of Columbus Council 7612. The Knights will have bottles available
after all Masses the weekend of February 17/18 for you to place in a convenient location
in your home for your loose change and dollars during Lent.
After all Masses the weekend of April 7/8 the Knights will collect the filled bottles.
Your Lenten contributions will be donated to Tender Care Pregnancy Consultation Center
in Westminster, with a portion also going to Pregnancy Center West.
Through our “Spiritual” Adoption Program, you and your family are asked
to pray for an unborn child each day during Lent,
that the parents will choose life for this child, God’s special creation.
A Prayer for Life by St. Pope John Paul II
O Mary, bright dawn of the new world,
Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of life.
Look down, O Mother, upon the vast numbers of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and the sick killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.
Grant that all who believe in your Son may proclaim the Gospel of life
with honesty and love to the people of our time.
Obtain for them the grace to accept that Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout their lives and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely, in order to build, together with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love,
to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.
