EDGE is a Middle School Youth Ministry Program that seeks to answer the fundamental questions that this generation is asking about life, their purpose, who they are, and whether God exists. As middle school youth search for their identity and where they belong, amidst the changes they are experiencing, EDGE provides a sense of belonging and connection with their peers. Because Gen Z is very different from the previous generations, being more connected digitally and less likely to assert a religious identity, EDGE takes a new approach to how religion and the Catholic faith is discussed with middle school youth. It presents the basic foundations of the Catholic faith in a kerygmatic and relevant way that takes into account Gen Z’s worldview as they strive to live their faith in their daily lives.
