SJCC is blessed to have many incredible volunteers who serve in this ministry. Our Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the sick visit the homebound members of our parish, bringing the Word of God and the Body of Christ to them. This ministry is for those called by compassion to be the presence of Christ to the most vulnerable. By reasons of our baptism, all Christians have a special share in the ministry to the sick and aging. Through the giving of the Eucharist, attentive listening, sharing prayer, offering reassurance and being present, ministers will bring the Body of Christ to those who cannot join us physically in worship.
If you are unable to attend Mass for health reasons and would like Holy Communion to be brought to you or if you know of someone who could benefit from this ministry or would like to volunteer, please email Sandy Ruane.
The restrictions of Phase 2 of the COVID19 Re-opening Plan may impact our ability to provide this service at this time.
