Child and Youth Protection

All adult parish volunteers ministering and serving others in our parish community must register online through VIRTUS, the Archdiocesan child protection management system.

This is broken into two categories: Substantial and Non-Substantial Contact with Children. All training is completed online.

Not sure which training is for you?

Here are some examples of volunteers required to complete “substantial contact with children” training:

• All leaders of ministry groups
• All leaders of Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, and Lectors
• All musicians and cantors
• All members of ministry groups involving children
• Money Counters
• Anyone driving on behalf of the parish
• Youth Ministry, Faith Formation, and Vacation Bible School volunteers
• Active members of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic Daughters, and Sheens

If you are otherwise a member of an all-adult ministry group, you should complete “non-substantial” training. If you are unsure, contact us!
