Money Counting Team Overview
Mission:
The Money Counting Team serves the parish by ensuring the accurate, timely, and confidential counting and recording of all collections received during Masses and special events. This important behind-the-scenes ministry helps maintain financial integrity and stewardship within the parish.
Responsibilities:

Count and verify weekend and holy day collections.

Record totals on appropriate tally sheets or software.

Bundle and prepare deposits for the bank.

Follow all parish and diocesan financial protocols for handling funds.
Team Member Expectations:

Maintain strict confidentiality and integrity.

Be detail-oriented and comfortable handling currency and checks.

Work in pairs or small teams for accountability and accuracy.

Attend annual training or updates on procedures and diocesan policies.

Usually serve on a rotating schedule (e.g., once per month or as needed).
Time Commitment:

Typically 2-3 hours.

Flexible scheduling, based on the team’s needs.
Who Can Serve:

Must be 18 years or older.

Must be registered parishioners in good standing.

Needs full VIRTUS compliance
