Dear Parishioners,
As we move closer to spring, “doesn’t that word spring sound good” we would like to thank you for your cooperation and understanding with the multiple campus closings this winter and navigating the parking lot that looked like the North Pole at times, please know that your safety is our top priority. Hopefully we are getting close to seeing the last of this unusually cold and stormy winter which, as you know, included multiple snowstorms and extended below freezing temperatures. We are looking forward to seeing the beauty and warmth of spring!
The Facilities team
Dear Saint Joseph Parish,
On behalf of Fr. John, Father Andrew, Deacon Tom, the giving committee and myself. I want to thank you all for your tremendous generosity during our Holiday giving.
This year Saint Joseph adopted
- 29 families
- 7 men from Hoffa foundation
- 11 families from Gabriel
- 10 families from Live Hope Laugh
- 5 families from Springboard
- 3 families from Carroll County Schools
- 7 men from Hoffa Foundation
That resulted in over 600 gift tags as well as 6 families adopted and completely fulfilled by individual parishioners. We also filled 10 stockings for the Shepherd’s staff. And collected over 40 gift cards for the students to use during the Mother Seton Shopping Day. Your Generosity is overwhelming and introduces Christ to so many in a very tangible way. Thank You.
Yours in Christ,
Deacon Joe Slattery
A Message from One of the Gabriel Project Families:
I wanted to extend my deepest gratitude…because of your generosity, my children will have a Christmas from their Mommy. I cannot possibly put into words how extremely blessed I feel and how grateful I am- and they dont know it yet, but my kids too- I am so, so, thankful to every last person who contributed anything (time, effort, money, etc.) to making this possible for my family. Thank you, so so much. From the bottom of my heart and from both of my children who dont even know yet how incredibly blessed they are. Where God guides, He provides! Yet another example of His love.
God Bless!

Our Chapel is currently without heat due to a part being on backorder. We have a portable heater in there at present, but please dress appropriately until it is fixed. Estimated to be by the end of next week.
Blessings neighbors,
On Saturday, September 27th, our Parish will be conducting a 5K race to benefit Saint Joseph Catholic Church ministries, including the new PAVing the Way ministry, which was founded to assist young adults transitioning from high school to college and into the professional community.
The race will start at 10:00 am and will likely last no more than an hour. All runners (and walkers) are welcome to attend this fantastic, new event. To conduct the race properly, we have planned a path through the local neighborhood. Runners will be using the sidewalk to avoid having to close roads. Runners will, however, be crossing one road (see route map), so we want all of our neighbors to be aware. Several officers from the Carroll County Sheriff’s office will be on-site, as safety is our top priority.
Thank you, and we hope to see you there.

Campus Security – Door Access Policy begins on August 1, 2025 (7/30/2025)
Campus Security – Door Access Policy (as seen in the bulletin on 7/6/2025)
Saint Joseph Catholic Church wishes to be as welcoming as possible, however we have an obligation to our parishioners, visitors and staff to maintain the campus in the safest possible way. We understand this might, at times be an inconvenience.
Effective August 1, 2025 the following guidelines will apply to accessing areas of the Eldersburg Church Campus:
All building doors will remain locked at all times with the exception of a scheduled event as indicated by the Facility Calendar.
All visitors are required to use the video doorbell at the Parish Office entrance when the doors are locked.
Our Lady of the Pilar Chapel will remain open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. From 7:00 pm to 7:00 am the chapel will only be accessible to key-fob and code holders.
On MONDAYS and THURSDAYS between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, anyone who currently possesses a key fob or door code MUST OBTAIN PRIOR AUTHORIZATION to enter any campus buildings. Any unauthorized access during this time period will result in forfeiting your access privileges. This procedure is necessary to accommodate a ten month rental agreement in place for those days of the week.
Our Daily Bread casseroles may be dropped off at the Parish Office reception desk when the doors are locked.
Join us in welcoming Father Andrew Westerman to SJCC. We are glad to have him as our Parochial Vicar for the next year. (7/3/2025)
